If you have a question, or something is wrong and you are not sure what, this is the right place. Describe what you are seeing in whatever words come naturally. You do not need to know the terminology.

Questions we get most often

"My lawn has brown patches - what is it?" The three usual culprits look similar and need completely different responses. Irregular patches spreading in hot dry weather, worst near a driveway or a south-facing wall, are usually chinch bugs. Roughly circular patches in humid weather are usually fungus. Patches that follow the pattern of your sprinkler coverage are an irrigation problem. Water the area thoroughly - if it does not respond within a few days, it is not thirst.

"How short should my grass be cut?" Higher than most people think. St. Augustine wants around three and a half to four inches. Cutting it short is the most common thing homeowners do that quietly damages a Florida lawn, because it removes the leaf area the grass feeds itself with and lets sun onto the soil where weeds germinate.

"How often should I water?" Less often, and more deeply. Light daily watering trains roots to stay in the top inch of soil and keeps the leaf blades wet overnight, which is exactly what fungus wants. Early morning, a couple of times a week in summer, and let the lawn tell you when it is thirsty - it will take on a blue-gray cast and hold your footprints.

"Do you do one-off visits?" Yes. Cleanups, mulch and hedge and palm trimming are all available as single jobs with nothing ongoing attached.

"Can you take over from another company?" Regularly. Tell us roughly what has been happening and we will pick it up from there.

When to phone instead

Email suits most things. Phone is better if it is time-sensitive - storm debris blocking access, or damage spreading fast enough that a few days matters. Chinch bug damage is the one that genuinely will not wait: grass that has been fed on does not recover, so the difference between calling in week one and week four is often the difference between a treatment and re-sodding.

Talking to a person

Messages are read by someone who works here, not routed into a system. If your question needs an answer rather than a quote, you will get one, and it will not be a paragraph steering you toward booking something.

We are a local business working a defined patch of Manatee County, which means our reputation travels down the same streets our trucks do. Telling someone their lawn does not need a treatment program costs us a sale and earns a recommendation, and over a few years that has been the better trade.

Things worth telling us up front

A dog. We would rather it was inside while we work - safer for everyone, and gates get opened.

A locked gate. If the back yard needs a code or a key, we need it once rather than a crew standing outside every week.

Beds or plants to leave alone. Something you planted that does not look like much yet, or an area you would rather we did not touch.

Irrigation quirks. A zone that does not run, a controller nobody understands, a head that sprays the driveway. We will spot most of it, and knowing sooner saves the lawn.

Allergies or preferences about products. It genuinely changes what we choose and how we apply it, and there are approaches that suit sensitive situations better than a standard program.

What we will not do

We will not tell you a lawn needs a treatment program when it needs cutting higher. We will not sell you a bundle when a single visit would do. And we will not quote for tree work at height, irrigation repair, or anything else outside what we actually do well - we will tell you it is a different trade and, where we can, point you at someone.

That is not modesty. A lawn company that takes on everything is a lawn company doing some of it badly, and on a service where somebody is on your property every week you find out fairly quickly.

Response times

Messages sent during the working week are normally answered the same day, and always within one working day. Weekend messages are picked up on Monday unless they are urgent.

If you are an existing customer and something has gone wrong, say so in the first line - those get looked at first.
